In uncertain times, owning and enhancing land, buildings and property can help to provide short or longer term income. Redeveloping a site or building, or applying for planning permission for a new use on it, could be one way to realise those aspirations. Equally you may also encounter concerns relating to planning permission, environmental or local authority obligations or requirements, or concerns about the sustainability credentials of your site. In either case, help is available!

Witney Futures Group is a unique venture which provides highly experienced technical and project management expertise to private and public sector clients in need of our specialist skills and a collaborative approach to effective and sustainable project completion.

Our 12 Associates and their own support staff (c60 people in total) provide a range of capabilities in environment, planning, development, energy and infrastructure. Our specialist skills are centred on disciplines including: environmental planning, EIA, landscape, ground conditions, contaminated land, land management, hydrology and flooding, ecology, acoustics, air quality, renewable and nuclear energy, sustainability and climate assessment and many others. We also have informal collaboration agreements with a network of individual experts and SMEs including climate neutrality specialists, project managers, ISO compliance experts, civil and structural engineers, transport consultants, heritage specialists, a PR and lobbying firm, financial and investment advisors and many others.

Our consultancy professionals can be deployed on long-term and short-term contracts for individual projects, or for interim placements in client organisations. We operate in the UK or internationally, and at short notice if required.

In these contexts we:

  • Offer solutions to developers, portfolio managers and others for land and property management and (re)development and supporting land and property investment decisions, including due diligence.
  • Take forward sites for planning/development consent, including: supporting applications with specialist technical advice; promoting sites through formal consenting processes; assisting contractors with planning, environmental and statutory requirements and contract reviews; and overseeing implementation including compliance with conditions of approval.
  • Lead or support: Environmental Impact Assessments, ESIA, FRA, HRA and similar assessments for development and infrastructure proposals including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects; generate environmental, engineering, public realm, landscape and habitat designs; manage multidisciplinary self- or client-selected environmental teams; appraise issues, constraints, opportunities and risks relating to land and property (sites or portfolios); and prepare and/or review reports and supporting documentation, for confidential circulation or formal submission including inquiries.
  • Act as intermediaries between developers, regulators, agencies, land owners and the public, including: conducting formal consultations; managing publicity, marketing and communications exercises; and using various media to support development proposals.
  • Engage in or support research and development studies where a project can take advantage of innovation, including advanced forms or renewable energy, high level land use and infrastructure planning, and facilitation of funding routes.
