• CULTIVATING JOY

It is easy to wake up on a beautiful spring morning and feel full of joy, even if there was snow on the ground, like this morning (no April Fools here!)

But the key to a fulfilled and self-expressed life is to feel that joy on a regular basis.

So, I'm curious, what do you do to cultivate joy in your life?

What are the things in your life that bring you joy?

I periodically review this and have made a few changes recently to make sure I am really intentional about making joy an every day part of my life.

The performing arts are one thing that brings me joy - ever since I went to watch Annie at the theatre for my 8th birthday I have felt this bubble of excitement inside of me every time I enjoy the talents of people singing, dancing and acting.

This week I have switched up my daily routine a bit and changed my meditation/hypnosis to the morning instead of the night and I have gone to bed early once with the orchestra playing songs from Steven Spielberg movies and once with songs by some of my favourite artists, including Eric Clapton and memories of seeing him live at the Royal Albert Hall.

    Tonight the opera is booked!

So if I can't go to them right now, they can come to me!

My joy cup is overflowing and I have slept so much better as a result and feel on fire. My creativity fire is burning white hot.

It is absolutely no mistake that the awesome Brendon Burchard describes productivity as effectiveness and shows a direct correlation to the balance in your life.

No joke at all, being intentional about joy in your life is a crucial element of high performance.

Joy is not an optional extra and it is not something to be done once everything else is sorted.

    It is crucial NOW.
