Summary

I am a very experienced programme manager, business consultant, team leader, coach, and mentor.  working closely within significantly diverse business portfolios, I have a legacy and very successful track record of being able to plug into projects and programmes that cover a diversity of disciplines and experience that extend from software development, system integration, hardware consolidation, PMO establishment and governance implementation,   business consultancy, and medical projects from transforming an academic clinical research organisation into a flourishing commercially successful CRO, I have led and delivered hospital information systems, and  system integration technology projects including Issuing New Credit Card Standard International Quality Drivers Licences t the people of Botswana, Delivered a Pre-Paid Land Line Service to Botswana Telecom, Led multiple server farm consolidations onto Unisys ES7000 technology etc.

 

I hold my passion for project management as a science, and art form, and in some ways a philosophy, as successful project delivery is akin to predicting the future, and then attempting to make it come true. I am APMP and PRINCE2 certified and have an established  legacy of delivering projects that oscillate from being small budget but mission critical projects with very little space for failure, to delivering multi-million dollar Transformation programmes for global institutions delivering tangible business benefits to major banks, and Payments processors, also with no room for failure. I have led multi-disciplined teams and drive high performance through strong leadership and direction. I create and grow collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders to secure buy-in for alternative delivery options that mitigate risk. My experience of managing the challenges involved in delivering complex programme of IT and business change projects, resolving complicated issues, and achieving programme success is my legacy.

    Led the Portfolio Delivery Service the MEA region for one of the largest international Payments Companies in the world. Reporting to the head of payments for EMEA, We delivered high-value and complex Enterprise and Change management initiatives to high value Tier 1banks and other Financial Payments institutions (Processors) and managed a portfolio with annual revenue of c.$30M pa from project and change delivery as well as c.$8m from professional services.  Agreed responsibilities and success criteria of change projects with the relevant Executive Sponsors and Functional Directors. Managed the development and delivery of a programme of change projects in compliance with company processes and procedures. Managed and executed the production of project management plans for change projects. Establish and manage collaborative cross-functional virtual teams to deliver change projects, where appropriate. Ensured accomplishment of schedule and cost milestones, maximisation of portfolio value, protection of margins, optimum utilisation of over 60 FTE resources, and optimisation of contract resources. Oversaw financial operations of ME and Africa with annual budget of c.$30M pa. Promoted and revised the use of efficiency improvement methods, governance of all projects, programmes, and services.

    ¨        Formulated programme management framework for FIS Global EMEA, including new PMO governance, strategic regional delivery governance structure.

    ¨        Restructured global project office and unified the project team and remediated bad customer relationships by improving delivery of services KPI’s.

    ¨        Hired as a short-term contractor to review and redefine the Mortgages business area to oversee the acceptance of process improvement requirements to improve the customer experience from application for a mortgage to completion of a mortgage contract.

    ¨        Planned and oversaw the business analysts who conducted workshops to understand End-to-End customer journeys, drop off points and bottlenecks that produced evidence of the changes and remediation required to improve the process and guide the development of high level project requirements.

    ¨        Led the gathering of business requirements defining specific business needs for the acquisition of a technology tool enabling remote connectivity between mortgage advisors and bank branch staff enabling remote mortgage advice to be delivered to customers.

    ¨        Coordinated the request for a demonstration Proof of Concept of this tool from various suppliers that would enable decisions to be made that would be best for the Bank’s needs.

    ¨        Coordinated the translation of these experiences and customer journey improvements into deliverable business requirements that would provide the scope for the project.

    Hired as Programme Lead, reporting to the Accountable Executive and the head of COO, owning project direction, development and tracking as well as business case and benefits realisation.

    Performed weekly status reporting to senior management stakeholders, Chief Operating Officer, and portfolio Chief of Operations in Global Commercial Payments (GCP). Major business stakeholders in Technology, Risk, Operations, Finance and Governance. I held the overall responsibility for successful delivery of the programme, to plan, budget, quality, and governance standards. Managed held the lead supplier accountable for the delivery of product against contractual obligations, milestones, and quality standards. Provided direction to project team of approximately 25 FTEs and management of project budgets between £2–15M. Owned and progressed effective governance of programmes & projects, employing PMO functionality, ensuring all technical, risk and compliance requirements were met, and governance framework was defined and firmly embedded across all areas. Managed projects, interdependencies, associated risks, and issues. Controlled programme / project scope, ensuring that rigorous change control exercised. Ensured resource plans maintained and that appropriately skilled and experienced individuals appointed in line with delivery plans.

    Key Projects:

    ¨        Delivered £6m IVR platform enabling the identification and verification of cardholders as part of the TRANSFORM Change programme while enabling call flow routing and enabling customer self-service. Managed a team of c.25 FTEs and successfully implemented the project within 6% of planned budget.

    ¨        Delivered an initiative focused on the reduction of direct debit payment set-up time, simplifying the customer journey, and streamlining the processes and policies around DD. Successfully completed within budget of £1.5m and achieved 70% reduction of customer complaints within the first 6 months.

    ¨        Conducted analysis and scope assessment of the migration of a legacy merchant acquiring platform to a new platform enabling single GBP and multicurrency capability, billing and settlement capability and migration of customer merchant contracts offering enriched processing capabilities.

    ¨        Delivered £2m ATM and POS acquiring system, utility payments, and integration with existing processing for host authorisation, clearing and settlement and certification with MasterCard. Delivered using local management and service across UK, USA, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

    ¨        Delivered £3m e-commerce ability to provide commerce gateway and secure authentication services with 3D-Secure functionality ensuring liability shift coverage for a closed joint stock company operating as a bank in Siberia in the Russian federation.

    ¨        Implemented £4m faster payments initiative for Santander (Alliance & Leicester) enabling international processing of CHAPS/SWIFT transactions and operational efficiency to enable growth. Project was delivered meeting all key industry milestones.
